  24. Release Policy:
  25. The shareware version of Money Smith can be freely distributed as long
  26. as you abide by the terms of the license and don't charge a fee or 
  27. otherwise profit from distribution.  Persons or companies wishing 
  28. to charge a fee should carefully read the terms described in the license
  29. as this generally requires written permission from Money Smith Systems or
  30. Bradley J. Smith.  The license is highly recommended reading for all
  31. users or distributers.

  33. Printing this file:
  34.   Use the notepad to view/print this file or just use the DOS PRINT
  35.   command to print it as in.
  36.     c:>  print readme.txt

  38. Looking at the manual:
  39.   Use the windows program manager to bring up the Write Application 
  40.   that comes with windows 3.0.  It is usually under the 'Applications'
  41.   program group.  Use the File Open command in Write to open the file
  42.   smith.wri.  Use the File Print command in write to print it.

  44. Installation using the setup program:
  45.   If you took the plunge and registered Money Smith, you will have a
  46.   program on the distribution disk called "setup.exe" which will
  47.   create a directory of your choice on your hard drive and step through
  48.   copying the files to your disk.  Choose the File Run command from the
  49.   menu of your program manager and type in 'a:\setup' or 'b:\setup' to
  50.   run the Money Smith setup program from your drive.  Setup will fully
  51.   install Money Smith including installation in the program manager.

  53. From the shareware source: 
  54.  Odds are pretty good you downloaded this from a bulletin board or copied
  55.  it from a buddy.  Odds are equally good the program is compacted in some
  56.  way.  The most popular file compaction programs follow:

  58.  Self Extracting Archive example: smith.exe - you need to run 
  59.     smith.exe 
  60.  PKZIP format: example: smith.zip - you need to run  
  61.     pkunzip smith.zip 
  62.  PKARC format: example smith.arc - you need to run

  64.  LHARC format: example smith.lzh - you need to run

  67.  You can get all three of these shareware unpacking program from your
  68.  nearest bulletin board or a local users group.  Other packing programs
  69.  are popular, so ask the person you got the program from what to use.  
  70.  Once unpacked you can use the setup.exe program to setup Money Smith.

  73. Licensing:
  74.   The license terms are online accessible from the Help menu of Money
  75.   Smith. They are listed at the end of the smith.wri documentation file.
  76.   Money Smith is shareware and not free.  You have 30 days to try it. 
  77.   The shareware version is provided completely AS IS with no warranty
  78.   either express or implied.  You take the risk for using it.  If you 
  79.   are a registered user you get full mail support for 90 days and 
  80.   preferential treatment for unsupported replies after the 90 days.

  83.   You are granted a 30 day trial license to decide if Money Smith is 
  84.   for you.  After that period you are expected to register Money Smith
  85.   to continue using it.  Registration costs $29.95.  You can print the
  86.   register.txt file to register.  Site licenses are also available: just
  87.   write Money Smith Systems, P.O. Box 333, Converse TX 78109 for more
  88.   information.
